The app "Satellite Finder" helps you to quickly and safely align your satellite antenna to the satellite of your choice. First of all you have to select the satellite you want to align your satellite antenna on. Therfore, simply tap on the button and afterwards a list of all satellites witch are available at your location is displayed...

Based on the selected satellite, all necessary information for aligning the antenna is displayed.

 

... depending on the satellite selected, the compass then displays a satellite symbol at the position (angle) to which you must point the satellite antenna. This angle is called the azimuth. In the upper part of the app, the right satellite symbol shows the angle of inclination (elevation) by which the antenna must be tilted upwards.

Maptype and zoom

Zoom:
use the "Pinch Gesture" to zoom the the map.
MapType:
Tap on the Kompas to change the maptype...

check for obstacles

click the "Obstacles" button to check whether you have a clear view of the satellite or whether there are any obstacles that could interfere with reception.

DUR-line SF 4000

The Satellite Finder (Pro) app shows you the elevation and azimuth in order to optimally adjust your antenna to the selected satellite. In order to receive a signal, the two angles (elevation and azimuth) must be set very precisely. By connecting the Satellite Finder (Pro) to the DUR-line SF 4000, you can now read the signal level directly in the Satellite Finder (Pro) app. Since the compass of the Satellite Finder (Pro) App has a system-related inaccuracy of approx. 5°-10°, it is even easier to align the antenna with the help of the displayed signal level.
When the DUR-line SatFinder SF 4000 is within range of your smartphone, a Bluetooth connection to the DUR-line SF 4000 is automatically established. Once the connection is established, this is indicated by the icon at the top right of the app. Now select the satellite to which you want to point your antenna. As soon as the symbol is displayed, you can start aligning the antenna.
Then you can view the signal level of the targeted satellite.

Elevation

The angle by which you have to tilt the antenna upwards.

Azimut

The direction in which the selected satellite is located. You have to turn your antenna in this direction.

Accuracy

The transparent blue triangle shows the current compass accuracy. The more open the triangle is, the less accurate the comapss accuracy is. To improve accuracy, calibrate the phone by moving the phone in the form of an "eight"
